Hall of State

The Hall of State was built in 1936, the centennial year of Texas independence. A gold medallion symbolizing the six nations to which Texas has paid allegiance dominates the Hall of Six Flags. The building contains the Museum of Texas History, statuary and two of the world's largest oil murals.

Eugene Savage of New York painted the murals to represent Texas history from early exploration to 1936.The Great Hall murals are 30 feet tall by 80 feet long.
